Lemon: When three-time felon Lemon Andersen held a Tony award for his work in Def Poetry Jam on Broadway, he thought he’d finally made it. Out of the projects. Off the streets. Onto the right side of the law. But in no time, he was back to the ‘hood…and back to the hustle. Lemon, a feature-length documentary film, brings to the screen Lemon Andersen’s struggle to free his family from poverty and pain as he exposes his most shocking secrets on the NY stage. It follows Lemon’s desperate battle to keep the poast where is belongs and move into a brighter future. Redemption may lie within Lemon’s grasp when none other than Spike Lee steps in to produce his show. The stake are high. With the power of a cliffhanger, Lemon asks the larger question: Can any of us really escape the past?
